Il mwbqkurmanji (mwbgin curdo کورمانجی‎, Kurmancî,cite-ref-1[1] – pronunciazione in curdo è come mwcwcurmangi – che significa mwdamwdqla lingua curda, derivata della kurmanj, in curdo mwdgkurmanc, che significa curdo),cite-ref-2[2]cite-ref-3[3]cite-ref-iranica2-4-0[4]cite-ref-5[5] anche detto mwhwcurdo settentrionale,cite-ref-6[6]cite-ref-britannica-7-0[7]cite-ref-8[8] è il dialetto settentrionalecite-ref-britannica-7-1[7] della mwmalingua curda, parlate in prevalenza nel sud-est della mwmqTurchia, nord-ovest e nord-est dell'mwmgIran, nel nord dell'mwmwIraq, nel nord della mwnaSiria e nelle regioni del mwnqCaucaso e mwngKhorasan.cite-ref-9[9] È la forma più parlata del curdo e mwowmadrelingua anche per altre minoranze etniche nel mwpaKurdistan, tra cui mwpqarmeni,cite-ref-10[10] mwqgceceni, mwqwcircassi,cite-ref-11[11] e mwsabulgari.cite-ref-12[12]

Fonologia

Le caratteristiche fonologiche del Kurmancî includono la distinzione tra consonanti occlusive mwzqaspirate e mwzgnon mwzwispirate, che possono essere aspirate in tutte le posizioni e la presenza di fonemi facoltativi.cite-ref-16[16]cite-ref-haigmatras-17-0[17] Quindi /p/ contrasta con /pʰ/, /t/ con /tʰ/, /k/ con /kʰ/, /q/ con /qʰ/ e l'affricata /t͡ʃ/ con /t͡ʃʰ/.cite-ref-haigmatras-17-1[17]

Continuum dialettale

Il Kurmancî costituisce un mwgacontinuum dialettale di grande variabilità. Si possono distinguere sei aree di sottodialetti:cite-ref-18[18]

• mwhwKurmancî nord-occidentale, parlato nelle province mwiaturche di mwiqKahramanmaraş (in Kurmancî: mwigMeraş), mwiwMalatya (mwjaMeletî) e mwjqSivas (mwjgSêwaz).
• mwkaKurmancî sud-occidentale, parlato nelle province di mwkqAdıyaman (mwkgSemsûr), mwkwGaziantep (mwlaEntab) e mwlqŞanlıurfa in Turchia e nel mwlgGovernatorato di Aleppo in mwlwSiria.
• mwmqKurmancî settentrionale o mwmgCurdo serhed, parlato principalmente nelle province turche di mwmwAğrı (mwnaAgirî), mwnqErzurum (mwngErzerom) e mwnwMuş (mwoaMûş), nonché nelle aree adiacenti.
• mwogKurmancî meridionale, parlato nel mwowGovernatorato di al-Hasaka in Siria, nel Distretto di Sinjar in Iraq e in diverse parti adiacenti della Turchia incentrate sulle province di mwpqMardin e mwpgBatman.
• mwqaKurmancî sud-orientale o mwqqBadînî, parlato nella provincia turca di mwqgHakkâri e nel mwqwGovernatorato di Dahuk e in parti del mwraGovernatorato di Arbil del mwrqKurdistan iracheno.cite-ref-19[19]
• mwswKurmancî anatolico è parlato nell'mwtaAnatolia centrale, in particolare a mwtqKonya, mwtgAnkara, mwtwAksaray, dai curdi anatolici.

Politiche Ezdîkî e Yazidi

Tra alcuni yazidi, il glossonimo Ezdîkî viene usato per Kurmancî per indicare un tentativo di cancellare la loro affiliazione con i curdi. Mentre Ezdîkî non è diverso da Kurmancî,cite-ref-iranicay2-14-1[14]cite-ref-20[20]cite-ref-21[21]cite-ref-22[22]cite-ref-23[23] questi sforzi tentano di dimostrare che lo Ezdîkî è una lingua indipendente che include rivendicazioni di essere una mwzglingua semitica. Ciò è stato criticato in quanto non basato su prove scientifiche e privo di consenso scientifico.cite-ref-24[24]

Il 25 gennaio 2002, l'Armenia ha ratificato la mw1aCarta europea delle lingue regionali o minoritarie e ha posto i curdi sotto la protezione dello stato.cite-ref-2-25-0[25] Tuttavia, a causa della divisa comunità yazida in Armenia e dopo forti critiche da parte della comunità, le autorità hanno scelto di ratificare la carta citando sia "curdo" che "yezidi" come due lingue separate.cite-ref-26[26] Ciò ha portato il termine Êzdîkî ad essere utilizzato da alcuni ricercatori per approfondire la questione delle lingue minoritarie in Armenia, dal momento che la maggior parte dei madrelingua curdi in Armenia provengono dal gruppo yazida.cite-ref-schulze-27-0[27] Come conseguenza di questa mossa, le università armene offrono corsi di lingua sia in Kurmancî che in Êzdîkî come due dialetti diversi.cite-ref-28[28]
